FAQ
Questions we get asked
If yours isn't here, call us. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.
Ordering
How far in advance do I need to order?
Less than most people expect. For Shabbos we can take an order up to two days before. For a midweek simcha, up to the day before. Longer notice always helps us — but if you are close to the date, call anyway rather than assuming it is too late.
Is there a minimum order?
Each package carries its own minimum, and it is shown on that package's page — the simcha packages start at twenty couples. For individual trays, ask us: it depends what you are ordering.
Can I change my order after I place it?
Yes. Nothing is firm until we have called you and gone through it. After that, call us as early as you can — once we are shopping and cooking for your date, some changes stop being possible.
Do you do tastings?
For larger simchos, yes. It is the best way to build a menu you are confident in. Ask when you request your quote.
Delivery
Where do you deliver?
Monsey, Spring Valley and the surrounding area, from our kitchen in New Square. Delivery is free on orders over $100. If you are further out, call and ask — we would rather tell you straight than have you guess.
Will the food still be hot?
Yes. Hot food travels in warming trays and is timed to arrive ready to serve, not ready to reheat.
Do you set up, and do you come back for the dishes?
Setup is available on every event and included on some. If you order real-dish service, pickup is included — we come back for them so you do not have to think about it.
Can I pick up instead of paying for delivery?
Yes. Say so when you send your order, or tell us when we call you back, and we will agree a time for you to collect.
Kashrus
Who is the hechsher?
Bd"tz New Square — the Skverer beis din for kashrus, whose seal carries the letters NSKC. It covers the whole operation: everything we cook and everything we deliver, with no exceptions.
Can you handle allergies?
Tell us at the time of ordering and we will tell you honestly what we can and cannot guarantee. Our kitchen handles common allergens, so we will never promise a dish is free of something when we cannot control it.
Payment
How do I pay?
Not through this website — nothing here asks for card details and nothing is charged online. There is no deposit: the order is paid in full before the event, arranged with us directly after we have spoken.
What is your cancellation policy?
An order sent through this site is a request, not a booking, so there is nothing to cancel until we have spoken. If you are not certain yet, send it anyway and say so in the notes — we will call you to go through it, and it only becomes firm once you confirm it with us on the phone.
Do you invoice organizations?
Yes. Schools, shuls and offices can be set up with invoicing and purchase orders. Contact us to arrange it.
